Opening program BUBT Research Week

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) has launched the BUBT Research Week 2026 for the first time in its history. The week long research program officially began on Sunday, 25 January 2026 with a colorful inauguration ceremony held at the BUBT Ground, where the event was formally opened through a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The opening program was graced by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossen, Honorable Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) as the Chief Guest. Md. Mainul Haque Bhuiyan, Deputy Secretary (Human Resource Development Branch) of the Information and Communication Technology Division, attended the event as Special Guest. During the ceremony, the guests inaugurated the Research Week by releasing pigeons and cutting a cake.

The program began with a welcome speech delivered by Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahman, Dean of the BUBT Research Graduate School (BRGS). The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Vice Chancellor of BUBT. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Yousuf, Vice Chancellor of the University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh. The speakers highlighted the importance of research based education, innovation and creating a globally competitive research environment in higher education.

It is worth mentioning that the five day long BUBT Research Week 2026 will continue until 29 January 2026. Throughout the week, research poster presentations, workshops, panel discussions and student research idea competitions will be held. The event will conclude with a Closing & Award Giving Ceremony, where faculty members and students will be honored for their outstanding research contributions in various categories.
