BUBT holds Freshers’ Reception for newly admitted students of Fall 2026

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) organised a Freshers’ Reception for the newly admitted students of Fall 2026 on Thursday at the university’s Sports Complex. The programme was arranged to formally welcome the new students to the BUBT family and introduce them to the university’s academic and student life.

Mr. Md. Shamsul Huda FCA, Member of the BUBT Trust, attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Professor Md. Abu Saleh, Vice Chairman of the BUBT Trust and Advisor, BUBT, attended as the Special Guest. Professor Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Vice Chancellor of BUBT, chaired the programme. Registrar Dr. Md. Harun-Or-Rashid delivered the welcome speech, followed by addresses from the Proctor, the Deans of BUBT Research Graduate School, Faculty of CS & AI, Faculty of Sciences & Engineering, Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Business & Economics.

The programme also featured a quiz for the newly admitted students and speeches by an existing student, a newly admitted student and a BUBT alumnus. In his speech, the Chief Guest Mr. Md. Shamsul Huda FCA encouraged the newcomers to remain focused on their academic journey and build themselves as responsible members of society. “Your time at the university should be used to acquire knowledge, develop skills and build the values needed for your future.”

Chairing the programme, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali welcomed the newly admitted students and encouraged them to actively participate in academic and extracurricular activities during their university life. “I welcome all of you to BUBT and hope that you will make the most of your university life through learning, discipline, creativity and active participation.” The first session of the programme concluded with the Chair’s speech, followed by prayer and a lunch break.

The second session featured cultural performances by the BUBT Cultural Club. The reception concluded with a musical performance by Lalon Band, providing the newly admitted students with an opportunity to enjoy a vibrant cultural segment as they began their journey at BUBT.
