BUBT hosts Cyber Security Awareness Program for top management

To foster a culture of digital resilience, the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) organized a "Cyber Security Awareness Program" for its top management today at the BUBT International Conference Hall. The event focused on critical pillars of cybersecurity, specifically aiming to protect institutional data, prevent cyber threats, and promote digital trust.


The session was chaired by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of BUBT, Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali. A key highlight of the event was the participation of esteemed delegates from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), underscoring the importance of international collaboration in digital safety. Mr. Shoji Akihiro, JICA Long-Term Expert and Chief Advisor, attended as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Katsuki Naho, JICA Long-Term Expert and Project Coordinator, joined as the Special Guest.


The technical portion of the program featured keynote speeches from prominent experts, including Dr. Shamim H Ripon, Professor of the Department of CSE at East West University, and Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahaman, Acting Dean of the Faculty of CS & AI at BUBT. The experts discussed the evolving landscape of digital threats and provided strategic guidance for institutional management.


Organized in collaboration with the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) and the ICT Division, the program was well-attended by BUBT’s top management. The university expressed its optimism to continue such awareness-raising initiatives in partnership with JICA and other stakeholders to maintain an IT-driven, safe, and education-friendly environment.
