3rd Bangladesh AI Olympiad 2026 National Round Successfully Held at BUBT

The National Round of the 3rd Bangladesh Artificial Intelligence Olympiad 2026 was held in a festive atmosphere at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). Students from Dhaka,
Chattogram, Khulna, Rangpur and across the country turned out in large numbers to participate enthusiastically in the competition. Throughout the day, the event featured programming challenges,
mathematical reasoning, various AI-based challenges, and analytical question-answer sessions. The event commenced on Saturday morning with venue reporting and registration, after which participants
took their seats in designated classrooms. 

Throughout the day, participants demonstrated their talent, creativity and technical skills in various competitions including the AI Quiz and & AI Coding Contest categories. A special fun segment was also arranged for guardians, which added a lively spirit to the occasion. At the closing and prize-giving ceremony, Chief Guest and BUBT Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali said, "Artificial Intelligence is no longer the technology of the future, it is one of the key driving forces of the present world. Today's talented students will lead Bangladesh's technology sector to the global stage in the days to come.


Special guests included Professor Dr. Munshi Mahbubur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, BUBT, and Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and
Artificial Intelligence, BUBT. The welcome address was delivered by BdOSN President Munir Hasan, while Professor Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib, Chairman of the CSE Department and Dean of BUBT Research Graduate School, presided over the ceremony. 

In his address, Munir Hasan said, "Bangladesh's young generation is second to none in talent and potential. Platforms like the AI Olympiad are giving them the opportunity to realize that potential. We want Bangladesh's students to showcase their abilities on the global technology stage. At the closing ceremony, 14 winners were announced in the Quiz category and 15 in the AI Challenge category. The event concluded with the distribution of medals and certificates to the winning students. Additionally, technology company Jadu PC presented a special computer as a gift to the champion of the AI Content category. 


Organizer Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) stated that the successful conclusion of the National Round reflects the growing interest of students in AI. It is hoped that this event will further inspire the younger generation of the country to work with artificial intelligence. The winners of today's National Round will have the opportunity to represent Bangladesh at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) to be held in Kazakhstan.
