Mahmudur Rahman is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). He has completed his M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), with a research focus on Landslide Susceptibility Analysis and natural hazard mitigation. His research interests encompass slope stability analysis, landslide susceptibility assessment, rainfall–soil interaction, soil health monitoring, ground improvement techniques, and the characterization of soil behavior under varying environmental and geotechnical conditions. His research integrates field investigations, laboratory testing, GIS-based studies, solid waste management, soft soil improvement, and numerical modeling to advance sustainable solutions for geotechnical hazards. Mr. Rahman is a recipient of the prestigious National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Bangladesh. He has actively contributed to several research initiatives, including institutionally funded projects at BUBT, and has published research in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings. His technical expertise includes geotechnical analysis and structural modeling using GeoStudio, GIS, ETABS, AutoCAD, and other engineering software.
