Md. Shahidul Islam is an Assistant Professor of Statistics at the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) under the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He completed both his Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Master of Science degrees in Statistics from the University of Chittagong, graduating with First Class honors in each program. His research interests primarily focus on Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, and Econometrics. Shahid has published research articles in both national and international journals and conference proceedings indexed in Scopus. He has also actively participated in numerous national and international conferences. In addition, he successfully completed an intensive training program on Applied Research Methodology conducted by the Research and Innovation Centre (BRIC). He was awarded the Best Presenter Award at the 24th International Mathematics Conference in 2025 and also received the Research Award from Bangladesh University of Business and Technology in the same year.
