Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at BUBT is a four year undergraduate program. It is a full day program that focuses on developing knowledge and skills of the students so that they can undertake the responsibilities as young executives in government, semi-government and private organizations. The BBA program of BUBT is a step towards meeting the professional challenges of the 21st century.

A total of 126 credit hours have to be completed by the students in 34 taught courses, 6 elective courses for doing major, an internship project of 3 credits and viva voce examinations of 3 credits. The students have to appear at a viva voce examination at the end of each academic year. 

The program is structured into 12 regular semesters. A semester is of 15 weeks duration of which 13 week are for classes. Usual course load is 12 credits in 4 courses in each regular semester. A student is required to do 6 courses (18 credits) to do major in a particular area. On completion of all course works, students have to do an internship assignment. Following the completion of organizational attachment of 12 weeks, students prepare reports on their internship experiences that are to be defended in a formal presentation.

 

Admission requirements for Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Program:

  • 1. GPA of at least 2.50 or 2nd Division in both the SSC and the HSC or equivalent examinations; or
  • 2. GPA of at least 2.00 either in the SSC or the HSC examination, but the total GPA in both the examinations combined must be at least 6.00; or
  • 3. 'O ' Level with at least 5 subjects and 'A' Level with at least 2 subjects. In these two examinations out of 7 (seven) subjects, a student must have passed 4 (four) subjects with at least B grade or GPA of 4.00 and in 3 (three) subjects with in at least C grade or GPA of 3.5.
  • 4. North American High School Diploma or International Baccalaureate, or its equivalent.
  • 5. In case of sons/daughters of Freedom Fighters, a total GPA of at least 5.00 in both the SSC and the HSC Examinations. But the official proof of the Father /Mother as a Freedom Fighter must be submitted.

 

Admission Procedure for Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Program:

Admission form and prospectus are available in the admission office/ reception desk. After the verification of necessary documents, the applicants are allowed to deposit the admission fees and sign on the application form to complete the admission process.

The following documents are needed at the time of admission:

  • Two passport size color photographs (studio lab print with white background for ID card purpose).
  • Photocopies of SSC/O-Level, HSC/A-Level, or equivalent examinations certificates and mark sheets/transcripts, SSC/O-Level registration card and birth certificate/ national ID card (one copy each).
  • Original certificates, mark sheets/transcripts, registration card and birth certificate /national ID card must be produced for verification by the officer of BUBT in charge of admission.

Students have to take 6 (six) courses of 18 (eighteen) credit hours in any one of the following areas for the purpose of majoring: 

(i) Human Resource Management:

Students majoring in this area must take the following four courses (12 credits):

  • HRM 405 Compensation Management
  • HRM 407 Human Resource Management Practices in Bangladesh
  • HRM 408 Strategic Human Resource Management

 They have to take additional 2 courses (6 credits) from the following:

  • HRM 404 Training and Development
  • HRM 406 Industrial Relations
  • HRM 409 International Human Resource Management
  • HRM 410 Industrial Psychology
  • HRM 411 Conflict Management
